Asus Rog Phone 9 Pro Review
Asus Rog Phone 9 Pro is the new pro gaming smartphone from Asus which was released on November 19, 2024. Earlier we have reviewed IQOO 13 and ZTE Nubia Red Magic 10 Pro+ smartphones which are gaming smartphones and both smartphones come with the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, Rog Phone 9Pro also comes with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor but the difference is in the display.
IQOO 13 and ZTE Nubia Red Magic 10 Pro Plus have a 144Hz high refresh rate display while Asus Phone 9 Pro has the highest refresh rate display which has been upgraded from 165Hz to 185Hz. Apart from this Asus has introduced new AI gaming features, new mini LED light design, bigger battery, faster performance and much more things that we will talk about but first let's take a look at the key specifications of Asus Rog Phone9 Pro.

So the first thing we are talking about is the design of the Asus Rog Phone 9 Pro, Asus has not made any changes in the design of the Rog Phone9 Pro from its predecessor Rog Phone 8 pro except for one change, even the dimension of the Rog Phone 9 Pro is the same as its predecessor which is 163.8 mm (6.45 inches) in length, 76.8 mm (3.02 inches) in width, 8.9 mm (0.35 inches) in thickness and the Rog Phone 9 Pro weighs 227 grams.
The increase of 2 grams in weight is because Asus has added larger battery and a mini LED programmable matrix at the back which has 648 LED dots, this thing makes the Rog 9 Pro different in design from its predecessor and it looks good. Asus said that this is the AniMe Vision auxiliary display Which features special animations and can also be customized to add your personal touch to the viewing experience.
If we look at the front of Asus Rog 9 Pro, it has a center punch hole camera and a 6.78-inch display with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection and in display fingerprint scanner. On the back there is a triple camera setup, LED flash and AniMe Vision display and it has only one color option which is Phantom Black.
On the right side there is the power on/off, volume buttons and two air triggers which are now also useful for photography feature. On the left side there is a USB Type C 1.4 display port and on the top there is a microphone and on the bottom there is a 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker, SIM card slot with dual nano SIM support, USB Type C 3.2 and microphone. Asus Rog Phone 9 Pro comes with IP68 water/dust resistant rating.

Asus 9 Pro features a 6.78-inch Samsung E6 LTPO AMOLED display. The display of Rog Phone 9 Pro is similar to its previous model Rog Phone 8 Pro but Asus has increased the refresh rate on this from 165Hz to 185Hz while other things remain the same. This display gets 185Hz refresh rate when we play Crossfire mobile, 165Hz refresh rate when we play Battle of the shovel and QQ speed mobile, 144Hz refresh rate when we play Naruto, call of Duty, league of legends and 120Hz refresh rate for Glory of kings.
These are special refresh rate adjustments for different games and Rog Phone 9 Pro also supports LTPO technology at 1-120Hz refresh. Apart from this, it has HDR10 + support, 10 bit color depth which shows 1.07 billion colors and has 720Hz higher touch sampling rate. Talking about brightness, Asus Rog Phone 9 Pro has 2500nits peak brightness.

Asus Rog Phone 9 Pro is powered by Snapdragon's flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition. This processor has 4.32GHz higher CPU frequency and it is based on 3nm architecture which consumes less power and talking about performance, it increases GPU performance by 40%, CPU performance by 45% and NPU performance by 40%. Talking about the core, it is an octa core processor with 2 cores (Oryon B2 Phoenix L) at 4.32GHz and 6 cores (Oryon V2 Phoenix M) at 3.53GHz and Asus has also added LPDDR5X RAM type and UFS 4.0 storage type in Rog Phone 9 Pro.

Asus has used a massive 5800mAh battery in the Rog Phone 9 pro which is 200mAh more than the battery used in its previous model Rog Phone 8 Pro. This battery is not made of the latest silicon carbon battery type but it is made of Li-Po battery.
This battery supports 65W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, with 65W wired charging it will charge 76% in 30 minutes and will be fully charged in 0:47 hours. The battery backup of Asus Rog Phone 9 Pro is 11:36 hours for web browsing, 17:59 hours for watching videos, 7:46 hours for gaming.
