Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus is a new AI smartphone from Huawei which was released on November 26, 2024 in China, Previously Huawei released Mate 60 Pro+ smartphone on September 8, 2023 in China which is the predecessor of Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus.
So after a year of waiting, Huawei upgraded many things from its predecessor Mate 60 Pro+ to Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus like new processor which is HiSilicon Kirin 9020 processor and bigger 5700mAh Si-C battery and also upgrade in cameras, display which is a bigger 6.9 inch display and Huawei also upgraded in design but the main difference between Huawei mate 70pro plus and Huawei mate 60 pro plus or we can say the big upgrade that Huawei has done in mate 70 Pro Plus is the AI features. The Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus smartphone is fully loaded with AI features like AI camera, many AI functions which we will talk about and we will also compare the specs with its predecessor Huawei Mate 60 pro plus but first let’s take a look at the main specifications of Huawei’s AI smartphone Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus.

The design of Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus is different from Huawei mate 60 pro plus, its sides are not made of Aluminum frame like mate 60 pro plus but made of new metal frame which is Titanium alloy frame with 8.3mm side thickness and the side frame is curved frame and not flat frame, this frame is combined with quad curved display and curved back makes it looks premium and feels good in hand.
Looking at the dimensions of the Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus, the Mate 70 Pro Plus has slightly different dimensions from its predecessor which are negligible to feel but if we look at the measurement, it measures 164.6 mm (6.48 inches) in length, 79.5 mm (3.13 inches) in width, 8.3 mm (0.33 inches) in thickness and the weight is same in both the smartphones which is 226 grams.
This display has Huawei Kunlun Glass 2 protection which is also used in mate 60 pro plus but this display has a higher screen to body ratio which is 89.7% and it does not have an in display fingerprint scanner but a fingerprint scanner is given along with the power button. Looking at the back, there is a new circular camera module which has triple cameras with LED flash and the Huawei Mate 70 Pro Plus comes in four color options: black, gray, white, green
On the right side there is a power button along with a fingerprint scanner and volume up/down button and the left side is blank. There are dual speakers on the top and on the bottom side there is a speaker, USB Type C 3.1, microphone and SIM card slot with dual nano SIM support and Huawei Mate 70 Pro+ comes with IP68/IP69 water/dust resistant rating.

The first upgrade that Huawei has done is in the display quality and size of the display, this is a 6.9 inch LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1316 x 2832 pixels which we can also call 1.5K resolution (a little bigger resolution due to the size). This display has a 120Hz fast refresh rate which supports 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate and has a 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz high frequency PWM dimming which protects eyes in dark environments. This display supports HDR10+, 10 bit color depth which displays up to 1.07 billion colors and has a 454ppi density. Talking about brightness, Huawei Mate70 Pro Plus has 2500nits peak brightness.
The display quality is absolutely better than Mate 60 Pro Plus because of the 454ppi density which is upgraded from 440ppi and the display size is slightly bigger and has a better viewing experience than Huawei Mate 60 pro plus.
