Realme Neo7 is the new midrange smartphone from Realme which was released in China on December 11, 2024. The first thing you will notice in the smartphone is its name, Realme has removed the GT in Realme Neo 7 that means if we look at the predecessors of Realme Neo7 they have been named with GT such as Realme GT Neo6, Realme GT Neo5 and now Realme has changed the name a bit from Realme GT Neo 7 to Realme Neo 7. Maybe Realme will release a different smartphone with the name of Realme GT Neo 7 but first of all we will talk about the existing smartphone which is Realme Neo7.

Realme Neo 7 is the biggest battery smartphone in the history of Realme it comes with a massive 7000mAh battery and the other major upgrade Realme has done is in the processor which is an upgrade from Snapdragon 8S gen 3 to the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor and there are a lot of things that Realme has upgraded in the Realme Neo7 which we will talk about and some of the things are similar to its predecessor Realme GT Neo 6 which we will also talk about but first let's take a look at the key specifications of the Realme Neo 7.

The Realme Neo 7 has a different design than its predecessor Realme GT Neo 6 and it is a better design than the GT Neo 6 but realme has downgraded in the quality of the materials in the realme Neo 7. The realme Neo 7 comes with a flat design with a plastic frame and the back is made of plastic which is a downgrade from the glass back used in the realme GT Neo 6. If we do not look at the materials used in the Realme Neo 7 then the design of the smartphone is absolutely good.

Looking at the dimensions, realme Neo7 measures 162.6 mm (6.40 inches) in length, 76.4 mm (3.01 inches) in width, 8.6 mm (0.34 inches) in thickness and it weighs 213 grams (7.51oz).

The front side of Realme Neo7 has a 6.78 inch display with center punch hole camera, Crystal Armor glass protection and if we look at the bezels then the side bezels of Realme Neo7 are 1.49mm which gives the display a 90.0% screen to body ratio and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner is also available. Looking at the back, there is a newly shaped camera module which has dual cameras and LED flash and the back is made of plastic with different cut out design and there are three color options available in Realme Neo 7 which are Black, Blue and Silver. Realme has made a big upgrade in the IP rating which is upgraded from IP65 to IP69 water/dust resistant rating which is a good thing in Realme Neo 7.

Now we are looking at the right side, there are power and volume buttons and the left side is empty. On the top side there is IR sensor, speaker and microphone and on the bottom side there is a microphone, speaker, USB Type C 2.0 and SIM card slot with dual nano SIM support.

The next thing we are talking about is the display, Realme has used a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution in Realme Neo 7. This display has a 120Hz refresh rate with LTPO technology which is adjustable from 1Hz to 120Hz and has a 360Hz touch sampling rate, 2600Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming. This display supports HDR10+, Always On Display and has a 450ppi density and talking about brightness, Realme Neo 7 has 1600nits HBM brightness and 6000nits peak brightness.

The display quality is absolutely good but there is no upgrade in the display that means the same display was also used in Realme GT Neo 6 which is the predecessor of Realme Neo 7.

The first major upgrade that Realme has made to the Realme Neo 7 is in the processor, which has been upgraded from the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 to MediaTek's flagship processor, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. This processor features TSMC's third-generation 4nm process, high-efficiency all-core architecture design, surging performance, smooth operation, and a powerful 12-core GPU with excellent graphics capabilities. Looking at the cores, there is 1 core at 3.4 GHz (Cortex-X4), 3 cores at 2.85 GHz (Cortex-X4), 4 cores at 2.0 GHz (Cortex-A720) and the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU.
