Xiaomi Redmi K80 Pro is the new gaming flagship smartphone from Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi, earlier Xiaomi introduced Redmi K70 Pro on November 29, 2024 in China which is the predecessor of xiaomi K80 Pro and now after a year xiaomi released Redmi K80 Pro on November 27, 2024 in China.
So after a year of waiting, xiaomi upgraded many things in Redmi K80 Pro like a new flagship processor which is upgraded from Snapdragon 8 gen 3 to the new flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite and another upgrade is in the battery which is 1000mAh bigger than the battery of its predecessor and xiaomi Redmi also upgraded the cameras and there are many more things that xiaomi upgraded in Redmi K80 Pro which we will talk about and some things which are similar to its predecessor K70 Pro which we will also talk about but before this, let's take a look at the key specifications of xiaomi Redmi K80 Pro.

So the first thing we are talking about is the design, Xiaomi Redmi has used new aluminum frame design with new camera module, ultra narrow bezels, large R corner edge design in Redmi K80 Pro.
The front of the smartphone has a 6.67 inch display which has the new Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 2.0 which is 20 times better in drop resistant test and it has a center punch hole camera with 3D face recognition feature which helps in face unlock and it has an ultra sonic in display fingerprint scanner which is 60% faster than the previous one. Taking a look at the dimensions, the length of the K80 Pro is 160.3mm (6.31 inches), width is 75mm (2.95 inches), thickness is 8.4mm (0.33 inches) and the weight of Redmi K80 Pro is 212 grams.
The back side is made of glass and has the new circular shaped camera module which houses triple cameras and big LED flash outside the module and the weight distribution of the smartphone is perfectly balanced with 50:50 ratio. Redmi K80 Pro comes with five color options which are Black, White, Mint and Lamborghini Green, Lamborghini Black out of which three colors are normal colors and the other two are special edition colors.
There are power and volume buttons on the right side and the top and left side is blank. At the bottom, there is a microphone, USB Type C 3.1, speaker and SIM card slot with dual nano SIM support. There is a microphone and speaker on the top on the front and a microphone and IR sensor in the circular camera module on the back. Xiaomi Redmi K80 Pro comes with IP68/IP69 water/dust resistant rating.

Xiaomi Redmi K80 Pro comes with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 2K resolution. This display has a 120Hz refresh rate and does not have LTPO technology but can be adjusted from 60/90/120Hz and has a 480Hz touch sampling rate, 2560Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. This display supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision and has 12 bit color depth which shows up to 68 billion colors and has 526ppi density. Talking about brightness, Xiaomi Redmi K80 Pro has 800nits typical brightness, 1800nits HBM brightness and 3200nits peak brightness.
So these were the specs that we talked about but now if we compare this display with its previous model Redmi K70 Pro display then this is the same display that is used in Redmi K70 Pro. The display quality and resolution and 526ppi density all the things are same except for the peak brightness, Redmi K70 Pro has 4000nits peak brightness while Redmi K80 Pro has 3200nits peak brightness.

Xiaomi Redmi has not made any upgrade in the display but has made a big upgrade in the processor which is the new Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor and this chip is the biggest upgrade in Snapdragon's 10 year history. This processor is based on TSMC's second generation 3nm architecture which enhances performance and consumes less power. Looking at the cores, there are two cores at 4.32GHz (Oryon V2 Phoenix L) and six cores at 3.53 GHz (Oryon V2 Phoenix M) which give Pc level performance.

Xiaomi Redmi has also upgraded the battery of Redmi K80 Pro which is 1000mAh bigger than its previous model Redmi K70 Pro. This is a big 6000mAh battery made of the latest Si-C battery type, the advantage of Si-C battery is that it has bigger capacity with smaller size. This battery supports 120W fast wired charging, with the help of both 120W and Xiaomi Surge P3 smart fast charging chip, k80 pro will charge 50% in 11 minutes and fully charge in 0:28 hours and K80 Pro also supports 50W wireless charging.

After battery Xiaomi Redmi has also upgraded the cameras of Redmi K80 Pro, many companies which launched gaming smartphones with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite processor did not upgrade the camera, even the camera is downgraded from their predecessor but Xiaomi Redmi has upgraded the cameras.
There is a triple camera setup on the back which includes a 50MP OiS main camera with OmniVision OVX8000 (1/1.55") sensor, 50MP OiS telephoto that has been upgraded from 2x optical zoom, 1/2.88" sensor to 2.5x optical zoom, 1/2.76" sensor and there is also an upgrade to the ultrawide lens which is a new 32MP ultrawide with 120° field of view and a new 20MP selfie camera on the front.
