Samsung Galaxy A56 5G is Samsung's new midrange smartphone in the Samsung Galaxy A series which was released on March 2, 2025 and is the successor to the Galaxy A55 which was released on March 11, 2024. Samsung has made several upgrades in the Galaxy A56 the first major upgrade is in the processor which is the new Samsung Exynos 1580 which is upgraded from Exynos 1480 and the second upgrade is in the display which is a new 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display.

Samsung has also made many other upgrades in the Galaxy A56 like in the design which is a new slim design compared to the Galaxy A55 and Samsung has offered fast charging in it and Samsung has made other upgrades in other things which we will talk about but before that let us take a look at the key specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A56 smartphone.

1) Samsung Galaxy A56 Design and Colors

Samsung Galaxy A56 has a new design at the back compared to Galaxy A55. It is a new aluminium frame flat design with 7.4mm thickness which is 0.8mm thinner than Galaxy A55 and weighs 198 grams which is also 15 grams lighter than Galaxy A55. Taking a look at the dimensions, Galaxy A56 measures 162.2mm (6.39 inches) in length, 77.5mm (3.05 inches) in width, 7.4mm (0.29 inches) in thickness and comes with IP67 dust/water resistant rating.

On the front side, Samsung A56 has a center punch hole camera and a 6.7-inch display with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and it has a screen to body ratio of 87.7% and Samsung has given it an under display optical fingerprint scanner. On the back side, it has a new pill shape camera module with triple cameras and LEDs nearby. The cornering on the back is also made of Gorilla Glass Victus+ which is a good thing about it and it comes in four color options which are Pink, Olive, Graphite, LightGrey.

There is power on/off and volume buttons on the right side and the left side is empty. There is a microphone on the top and a microphone, speaker, USB Type C 2.0 and SIM card slot with dual nano SIM or dual e-SIM support on the bottom.

Samsung Galaxy A56 has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD+. This display has a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate and has a 385ppi density. This display also supports HDR10+, Always On Display and 16 million colors. Talking about brightness, the Galaxy A56 has 1200nits HBM brightness and up to 1900nits peak brightness. Overall, if we compare this display with its previous Galaxy A55 display, then its quality is slightly less than the A55 display as it has a 385ppi density which is slightly less than the galaxy A55 display which has a 390ppi density but the Galaxy A56 display is brighter than the Galaxy A55 display.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 is powered by Samsung's new Exynos 1580 processor which is an octa core processor based on 4nm architecture. This processor has 1 core at 2.9 GHz, 3 cores at 2.6 GHz, 4 cores at 1.9 GHz and Xclipse 540 GPU. Apart from this, Samsung has used LPDDR5 RAM type and UFS 3.1 storage type in the galaxy A56.

Samsung Galaxy A56 comes with the latest Samsung One UI 7.0 which is based on Android 15 and the Galaxy A56 will get up to 6 years of major Android upgrades and apart from this there is Bluetooth 5.3 and WiFi 6 connectivity.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 has a 5000mAh Li-Po battery that supports 45W wired charging and this is a good thing as the charging is upgraded from 25W. With a 45W charger, the Galaxy A56 will charge 65% in 30 minutes and fully charge in 68 minutes.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 has triple cameras on the back consisting of a 50MP OiS main camera with Sony IMX906 (1/1.56") sensor, a 12MP ultrawide with 123° field of view and Sony IMX258 (1/3.06") sensor, a 5MP macro lens and there is a 12MP selfie camera on the front. Both the rear and front cameras allow you to record videos up to 4K at 30fps.
