Apple MacBook Air M4 Review

Apple has released the new MacBook Air m4 on 5th March 2025 which comes with Apple’s new Apple M4 chip and Apple has released it at a price of $100 less than its predecessor MacBook Air M3 which is a big deal because we get the new powerful MacBook Air M4 at a price of $100 less than the MacBook Air M3.

Additionally, Apple has made several other upgrades to the MacBook Air M4 in terms of battery and other things which we will talk about and there are two sizes available, one 13-inch and the other 15-inch, which we will also compare with its predecessor MacBook Air M3, but before that let's take a look at the key specifications of Apple's 2025 MacBook Air M4.

1) Apple Macbook Air M4 Design and Colors

There are two MacBook Air available in the MacBook Air M4 series, the first is the 13-inch MacBook and the second is the 15-inch MacBook Air. Both the MacBook Air are made of aluminum material and weigh 1.24Kg (2.73lbs) and 1.51 Kg (3.33lbs). The dimensions of the MacBook Air M4 13 inch are 304.1mm (11.97in) in length, 215mm (8.46in) in width, 11.3 mm (0.44in) in thickness and the dimensions of the MacBook Air M4 15 inch are 340.4mm (13.4in) in length, 237.6mm (9.35in) in width, 11.5 mm (0.45in) in thickness. If we compare the dimensions with its predecessor MacBook Air M3 then the weight and dimensions are exactly the same.

Now we open the MacBook Air M4 which can open up to 130° and has a keyboard that has a fingerprint scanner and a track pad and has a 13.6-inch or 15.3-inch center notch display with 5.6 mm or 5.4 mm bezels. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the right side of the MacBook Air M4 and on the left side there is MagSafe charging port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports and the MacBook Air M4 comes with four color options which are Black, Silver, Gold, and Blue.

2) Apple Macbook Air M4 Display

The next thing is the display, first of all we are talking about the 13" MacBook Air M4 display which is a 13.6-inch IPS LCD display which Apple calls Liquid Retina display. This display has a 2560x1664 native resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and 225ppi density. This display supports HDR, Dolby Vision and 1 billion colors which looks great and in terms of brightness it has a maximum of 500nits of brightness. The second 15" MacBook Air M4 has a 15.6-inch Liquid Retina IPS display with 2880x1864 native resolution and this also has the same features that come with the 13-inch display and if we compare this display with its predecessor MacBook Air M3 display then both displays are the same.

The 2025 Apple Macbook Air is powered by Apple's new M4 chip which is a ten core processor based on 3nm architecture technology and the M4 chip has 4 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores and has a base frequency of 4.41GHz. The Apple M4 chip is up to 23 times faster than the fastest Intel based MacBook Air and up to 2 times faster than the M1 MacBook Air and looking at single core and multi core scores which are given below

The MacBook Air M4 13" comes with a 53.8Wh battery which is 1.2Wh bigger than the previous one and this battery supports 70W MagSafe charging and the battery capacity is up to 18 hours for video streaming and up to 15 hours for wireless web. The MacBook Air M4 15" has a 66.5Wh battery that supports 70W MagSafe charging and it also has the same battery capacity.
