Huawei has released a new foldable smartphone with a different design which is the Huawei Pura X. The Huawei Pura X was released on 20th March 2025 only in China and there is no announcement about the global launch but one thing that makes us talk about this smartphone is its design. Huawei Pura X has a different foldable design as it is a little wide smartphone and it looks like a tablet but it is not a tablet rather looks very premium as its camera module and colors and external display design is quite good.
This smartphone is not only about the design but there are premium features that Huawei Pura X offers like camera, battery, display etc which we will talk about but before that let us take a look at the key specifications of the Huawei Pura X smartphone.

1) Huawei Pura X Design and Colors
Huawei Pura X comes with a unique foldable design, the smartphone has a curved aluminum frame with a thickness of 7.2mm when we open it and 15.1mm when we fold it so it feels a bit thicker than Samsung foldable smartphones but it feels premium. The weight of Pura X is 194 grams for the plain eco leather version and 196 grams for the glass version.
Talking about the dimensions, Huawei Pura X measures 143.2 mm (5.64 inches) in length, 91.7 mm (3.61 inches) in width, 7.2 mm (0.28 inches) in thickness and when we fold it, it looks like a perfect square as its length is 91.7 mm (3.61 inches), width is 91.7 mm (3.61 inches) and thickness is 15.1 mm (0.59 inches).
Unfolding it and looking at the front, it has a center punch hole camera and a 6.3-inch foldable display with a screen to body ratio of 87.5%. There are two back material options available on the back, first is glass back and second is eco leather back and Huawei Pura X has five color options which are red, green, gray, white and black. There is a big capsule shaped camera module at the back which has Quad cameras with proximity light sensor and laser focus sensor and outside the module there is LED flash, earpiece/speaker. There is a 3.5 inch display at the back which is known as front display because when we fold the smartphone and at the bottom of the display there is a thing with wireless charging and NFC support.
Now we open the Huawei Pura X and see the buttons and ports, on the right side there is a volume button and on the left side there is a microphone. On the top side there is a power button along with a fingerprint scanner, speaker, microphone and pressure relief valve and on the bottom side there is a speaker, USB Type C 3.1, microphone, SIM card slot with dual nano SIM support and Huawei Pura X comes with IPX8 water/dust resistant rating (up to 2 meters for 30 minutes).
2) Huawei Pura X Display
Huawei Pura X has two displays, first is the main display and the second is the cover display. The main display is a 6.3-inch foldable LTPO2 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1320 x 2120 pixels. This display has a 120Hz refresh rate with LTPO2 technology which can be adjusted from 1Hz to 120Hz and has a 300Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming. This display supports HDR10+, 10 bit color depth which shows up to 1.07 billion colors and has 396ppi density. Talking about brightness, Huawei Pura X has 2700nits peak brightness.
The cover display is a 3.5-inch LTPO2 AMOLED display with a resolution of 980×980 pixels and also supports 120Hz refresh rate with LTPO2 technology. This display has a 240Hz touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming. It also supports HDR10+, 1.07 billion colours.
3) Huawei Pura X Processor and Memory
Huawei has not mentioned the processor of Huawei Pura X on its specs sheet or Huawei Pura X official page but we know which processor Huawei has used. Huawei Pura X has Hisilicon Kirin 9020 processor which is an octa core processor and not a twelve core processor (hardware information is displayed wrong). Talking about the cores, this processor has 1 core at 2.5 GHz (Taishan Big), 3 cores at 2.15 GHz (Taishan Mid), 4 cores at 1.53 GHz (Cortex-A510) and Maleoon 920 GPU. Huawei Pura X also offers LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage type.

4) Huawei Pura X Software and Connectivity
Huawei Pura X comes with the latest Harmony OS 5.0 and has Bluetooth 5.2 and WiFi 7 connectivity. Huawei has also provided AI features in Huawei Pura X which are given below

5) Huawei Pura X Battery and Charging
Huawei Pura X has a 4720Mah Li-Po battery that supports 66W wired charging. This battery also supports 40W wireless charging, 7.5W reverse wireless and 5W reverse wired charging.
6) Huawei Pura X Camera
Talking about the camera, Pura X has a quad camera on the back consisting of 50MP (f/1.6) OiS main camera with RYYB sensor, 40MP f/2.2) ultrawide angle macro camera, 8MP (f/2.4) OiS telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, a 1.5 MP multi-spectral channel red maple primary color camera and 10.7MP (f/2.2) selfie camera on the front. With the rear camera, you can record videos up to 4K and with the front camera, you can record videos up to 1080p.

Huawei Pura X price starts at ¥7499 ($1035) for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and the smartphone has been recently launched in China only, so the following prices are from China.
